How to Make My BBQ Rub
A good BBQ rub can transform a simple piece of meat into something special. The best part? Making your own is cheaper and tastes better than anything you'll find in the shops. This recipe uses simple ingredients you probably already have in your cupboard. Once you've made your own rub, you'll never go back to the pre-made stuff.
Ingredients
- - 1 Cup Salt
- - 1 Cup Garlic Granules
- - 1 Cup Sugar
- - 1/2 Cup Smoked Paprika
- - 1/2 Cup Chilli Powder
- - 1/2 Cup Cumin
- - 2 Tbsp Black Pepper
- - 2 Tbsp Mustard Powder
- - 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
- - Store: Airtight jar, cool & dark (lasts months).
Method
- 1. Measure out equal parts coarse salt, coarse black pepper, and granulated garlic.
- 2. Combine all three ingredients in a bowl or container.
- 3. Mix thoroughly until evenly distributed.
- 4. Store in an airtight container - it'll keep for months.
- 5. Use generously on beef, pork, or chicken before cooking.
